These are the Chelsea vs Leeds confirmed lineups for their Premier League clash on Tuesday. This will see one of the teams just outside the top four take on one of the teams just above the relegation zone. Both teams have received a revamp, one through a tactical alteration to a back five that has emphasised their physicality, and the other with a new manager in the form of Liam Rosenior. Will the Whites end the new manager’s winning streak in the league or are the Blues the real deal?
The squad will be without long term absentees Mykhailo Mudryk, Levi Colwill, Romeo Lavia, Jamie Gittens, and Dario Essugo. There are some minor issues to names like Reece James, Tosin Adarabioyo, and Filip Jorgensen who could be back for this one but could also miss out if they’re deemed unfit.
subs: Sharman-Lowe, Badiashile, Fofana, Sarr, Hato, Garnacho, Neto, Delap, Guiu
There are only a few injury problems for Daniel Farke to handle but they could prove key to his chances of winning. Anton Stach is out, Pascal Struijk is out, and Dominic Calvert-Lewin will miss this fixture. That is three of the core players who make the Whites a suitably physical outfit, Calvert-Lewin in particular is an experienced top division player who knows how to handle top defences.
Ilia Gruev is facing a late fitness test, the coach will be hoping to have him available for this one.
Darlow, Bogle, Gudmundsson, Rodon, Bijol, Bornauw, Justin, Ampadu, Gruev, Aaronsen, Nmecha
Subs: Perri, Byram, Longstaff, Tanaka, Buonanotte, James, Okafor, Gnonto, Piroe
