The Chicago Fire have a new secondary jersey for the 2025 MLS season.

The club publicly released its “Municipal Kit” ahead of the Fire’s 2025 MLS season kicking off next weekend in Columbus, Ohio. The new secondary jersey will replace the Fire’s “Celebration Kit,” which the club utilized over each of the last two seasons.

Chicago went back to red for the home jersey ahead of the 2024 season and now they’ve included a blue in this new kit that harkens back to earlier logos that the club used in MLS.

Joe’s Thoughts:

This kit is perfectly fine.

Its predecessor, the “Celebration Kit” had more flair to it and the confetti-like design on it that brought more fun than the “Municipal Kit” provides.

The colors are nice and the design is subtle, yet distinctive. The “Municipal Kit” is a solid contrast to the Fire’s “Return to Red” kit and will provide options for the club in 2025.

Frankly, this club needs to go for broke with one of these secondary jerseys in the coming seasons. Yellow? Sure. Purple with pink accents? Totally.

A secondary kit should stand out and be appealing to non-Fire fans. The “Municipal Kit” does that but in a laid-back manner that makes you want to wear the kit under a flannel in October.
