Chicago Fire host Vancouver Whitecaps at Soldier Field in Chicago today, Tuesday, October 6, in an MLS regular-season match that was rescheduled from July because of poor air-quality conditions caused by wildfire smoke.
Kickoff is scheduled for 7:30 p.m. CT (8:30 p.m. ET / 12:30 a.m. UTC on October 7).
The game pits two teams in the playoff picture against each other. Vancouver enter the matchup sitting second in the Western Conference with 50 points from 26 games (15-6-5), while Chicago have 42 points (12-8-6). The Fire will also finally get the home debut they were expecting for Robert Lewandowski after the Polish striker joined the club during the summer.
The biggest attraction of this matchup is the reunion between two Bayern Munich giants, Robert Lewandowski and Thomas Muller, who now find themselves on opposite sides.
The former Bayern teammates won multiple major trophies together in Germany and Europe, and seeing the two footballing icons face each other again is a hugely exciting moment for fans around the world.
Chris Brady is away on international duty. Robert Lewandowski could come into the attacking lineup after returning from international duty with Poland, potentially replacing one of the projected forwards.
