The Chicago Fire’s Brian Gutiérrez and Andrew Gutman have enjoyed a solid Monday after the two were major contributors in their 4-1 win over Charlotte FC on Saturday.
Gutiérrez and Gutman are in Major League Soccer’s Team of the Matchday Starting 11 for Matchday 14.
Gutman played the entire match at left back and assisted Philip Zinckernagel’s 64th-minute goal that extended Chicago’s lead to 3-0. The former Indiana Hoosier then helped his side regain their three-goal lead when he won a penalty kick in the 77th minute.

Gutiérrez helped the Fire open the scoring in Charlotte by assisting Jonathan Bamba’s 42nd-minute goal. He then scored in open play in the 60th minute before putting the match away in the 79th minute when he scored from the penalty spot moments after Gutman won the PK.

The news came hours after Gutiérrez was named to the United States Men's National Team’s preliminary roster for the 2025 CONCACAF Gold Cup alongside teammate Chris Brady.
The Fire will travel to take on the New England Revolution in the 2025 US Open Cup Round of 16 on May 20. The match will take place at Chapey Field on the campus of Providence College. It will kick off at 6:30 p.m. CT. and will be broadcast on the CBS Sports Golazo network.
