Philip Zinckernagel has continued to add MLS accolades to his collection in his first season with the Chicago Fire.
Zinckernagel was named to Major League Soccer’s Team of the Matchday starting lineup for Matchday 21 after his performance in the Fire’s 3-2 win over Charlotte FC at Soldier Field.
The Fire’s winger opened the scoring in the 23rd minute when he made a massive run down the right side, cut in and around Charlotte’s Andrew Privett before firing his shot into the net before assisting Brian Gutiérrez’s goal less than two minutes later.
Zinckernagel, who the Fire acquired in the offseason from Club Brugge, now has eight goals and eight assists in MLS and added another goal in the U.S. Open Cup. The veteran was also named to the 2025 MLS All-Star roster as a coach’s selection last week and will be participating in the festivities in Austin, Texas.
