Rall joins the Red Stars on a one-year deal with a mutual option for 2025 from Bayern Munich in the Frauen-Bundesliga in Germany for an undisclosed fee, per the announcement from the Chicago.
"I am really happy and excited to join the Red Stars," said Rall in the announcement. "It’s a big thing for a little German girl like me to have the opportunity to play in the USA.”
Rall, 30, was mostly utilized by Bayern in a right back role while occasionally pushing forward up the pitch in an attacking role when needed. Rall made 29 appearances (25 starts) last season but had been used sparingly in the current campaign, playing 17 minutes over three appearances. She previously played for VfL Sindelfingen, 1899 Hoffenheim II, and 1899 Hoffenheim in Germany. The defender has made four appearances with the German Women’s National Team since 2021.
It’s a homecoming for Lombard, Illinois native Biegalski, who was Chicago’s second-round pick (16th overall) in the 2020 NWSL Draft. The defender made three appearances for Chicago in the 2020 NWSL Challenge Cup before joining the Washington Spirit as a national team replacement player in 2021.
Biegalski’s contract is also a one-year deal with a mutual option for the 2025 NWSL season.
“The Red Stars are happy to welcome a Chicagoland native back home,” said Red Stars president Karen Leetzow in the announcement. “Camryn’s experience with the Spirit – including being part of their 2021 championship team – will certainly make our roster deeper and help us be competitive this season.”
After a short wait, the Red Stars fully dove into the transfer market and are putting together an incredibly strong squad for the 2024 NWSL season. Rall can line up at center back and right back while Biegalski has experience at both outside back roles. For a team that conceded a league-leading 48 goals in 2023 (second place conceded 33), depth was needed and Chicago has managed to add versatility to its locker room.
