Juventus director Giorgio Chiellini refused to be drawn on transfer strategy and Randal Kolo Muani, insisting instead that Igor Tudor deserves ‘credit’ for getting the best out of their existing players.

The match with Genoa kicks off at the Stadio Luigi Ferraris, also known as Marassi, at 17.30 UK time (16.30 GMT).

Naturally, with just 24 hours to go before the transfer deadline tomorrow evening, the questions from the media were all about moves and potential new signings.

However, the former defender proved he’s lost none of his ability to let absolutely nothing through.

Chiellini keeps tight-lipped on Juventus moves

“I understand you are focused on this, but the game is the most important thing for us, preparing to face a strong Genoa team. We have good players who are in a tough match and I expect a lot from them, then there’s time for the rest,” Chiellini told DAZN Italia.

He was pressed again on the negotiations with Paris Saint-Germain to sign Kolo Muani, going from a loan with obligation to buy, into a dry loan without even an option to make it permanent.

Instead, he turned the focus back onto coach Tudor and the fact few of the talents have left Turin this summer.

“I think people don’t give us enough credit for keeping the great players we have in the squad and the work Igor has done getting value out of the squad. I’ve seen a definite change and we started the season very well.”

Kenan Yildiz is the Number 10 at Juventus now, so would he have fitted in well in Chiellini’s Bianconeri?

“Kenan would’ve played in any of the old Juventus teams. He has evolved from a talent to a useful player to a champion. He could’ve played in any Juve team of the last 40 years,” concluded Chiellini.
