Director Giorgio Chiellini assures Dusan Vlahovic ‘will be a Juventus player until June 2026,’ and hopes Teun Koopmeiners can ‘gain confidence’ against Atalanta today.

It kicks off at the Allianz Juventus Stadium in Turin at 17.00 UK time (16.00 GMT).

You can follow all the build-up and action as it happens from today’s three Serie A games on the Liveblog.

Both these sides are still unbeaten in Serie A so far this season, but the Bianconeri have been leaking goals and dropped points for the first time in the 1-1 draw away to Verona.

They have also not beaten Atalanta in this fixture since March 2018, managing just two draws in the last seven meetings here.

Considering Napoli have a very difficult trip to face Milan on Sunday, this is an opportunity for Juventus to close on the leaders.

Chiellini on Vlahovic and Koopmeiners status at Juventus

“I am looking at a very important 90 minutes. We managed to train well and recover this week, but Atalanta are a big test and in recent years we haven’t beaten them here, so we need a great performance,” Chiellini told DAZN Italia.

There are some changes from coach Igor Tudor, including Teun Koopmeiners in midfield against his former club rather than Manuel Locatelli. Is this his role, after he was used as a trequartista last season?

“Koop is a midfielder, so against Inter he played in a slightly different role, but with Atalanta he needs to create movement. We’ve got four midfielders, they are alternating for the roles, and we hope this game can help him gain some confidence, as he really needs it,” added Chiellini.

Vlahovic is on the bench, having scored all his goals so far this season as a substitute, but with a contract that expires at the end of this campaign, will the striker be sold in January?

“It is very easy, Vlahovic will be a Juventus player until June 30 2026, so what we are reading is surreal,” replied Chiellini.

“Vlahovic is not moving, he is a Juventus player, and we hope he does well in these games. He is training well, has an excellent attitude and is showing that on the pitch.”
