Christian Pulisic continues to deal with muscle problems and has not been able to return to play for AC Milan. He received a major update on Monday.
The Rossoneri club hosted Lazio on Saturday, Nov. 29, at San Siro, on the occasion of the 13th matchday of Serie A, and the U.S. soccer men's national team star did not participate.
According to Gazzetta dello Sport, although recent tests performed on Pulisic, 26, did not show any kind of injury, the USMNT forward did not participate in the training session before the match against Lazio.
Massimiliano Allegri decided not to take any risks with his star player and did not consider him for that Serie A fixture.
A new update has emerged from Italy regarding a couple of AC Milan players, including Pulisic.
According to Sky Sport Italia (h/t MilanNews), Pulisic continues his individual training program before returning to the field. The cited outlet notes there is optimism about seeing him play against Lazio in the Coppa Italia.
On Wednesday, Dec. 4, AC Milan visits Lazio in a Round of 16 match of the aforementioned Cup.
That said, "Milan aren't willing to take any risks with their star as they know how important he is for the team," so "the next few training sessions should give us some more updates on the matter," as explained by the cited site.
Another player who would be close to returning and could help the offense alongside Pulisic is Santiago Gimenez. The Mexican continues his individual rehabilitation before returning to on-field training. Gimenez has been dealing with an ankle problem for several months.
