Inter were eliminated from the Club World Cup, suffering a 2-0 loss against Fluminense, where only a few players proved to be up to the task.

Inter

Sommer 5 – Thought about claiming the ball, but suddenly changed his mind, leading to Fluminense’s opener. Made a great save in the second half, but it wasn’t enough to save his performance.

Darmian 4.5 – He also had responsibility for Fluminense’s opening goal as he was caught in no man’s land. Exhausted, like most of his teammates.

De Vrij 4.5 – His first long pass was blocked in the build-up to the Brazilians’ first goal. Too often in the wrong position.

Bastoni 5 – Looked pretty irritable and also got an undeserved yellow card in the first half. Understandably not the best version of himself after 58 appearances in 2024-25 (71′ Carlos Augusto 5.5 ).

Dumfries 4.5 – The Dutchman was never really dangerous and looked confused defensively (53′ Luis Henrique 6).

Barella 6.5 – One of Inter’s irreplaceable players, gave his all until the end, finishing the match with 90% passing accuracy (via Sofascore).

Asllani 4.5 – The turf didn’t help, but the ball just didn’t move quickly enough (53′ Sucic 5).

Mkhitaryan 4.5 – Nowhere to be seen. Only 33 touches for the Armenian (53′ Carboni 5).

Dimarco 6 – Not his best game defensively, but he had the first chance in the game and hit the crossbar in the final minutes.

Thuram 4.5 – Clearly not in shape. He had returned to group training only a few days ago, and he was never dangerous today (66′ S. Esposito 6).

Lautaro Martinez 6 – Had Inter’s best chances in the second half. Unlucky when he hit the post after a fantastic move inside the box.

Coach: Chivu 5 – Inter went down for the third time in four games at the Club World Cup. This time around, they failed to complete a comeback. Now he needs his players to rest and have a fresh start in just a few weeks.

Fluminense: Fabio 7.5; Samuel Xavier 7, Ignacio 7, Thiago Silva 7.5, Freytes 6.5; Rene 6.5, F Bernal 7-5 (81′ Santos N/A); Martinelli 6.5 (60′ Hercules 7), Nonato 6 (60′ Lima 6), Jhon Arias 7.5; German Cano 7.5 (66′ Everaldo 6.5). Coach: Portaluppi 7
