If there’s a player at Manchester United that has been subject to as much criticism and censure than Erik ten Hag, it’s Andre Onana . The Cameroonian goalkeeper was brought into the club with high hopes of ‘fixing’ the goalkeeping situation following the departure of David de Gea.

However, the player has struggled to put in solid performances, with a long list of unfortunate errors defining his time at the club. While United manager Erik ten Hag struggles to keep his opposition, the Dutchman faced what probably is his last shot at keeping his job.

In Saturday night, Man United took on Manchester City in the final of the FA Cup and defeated them 2-1 even though the Cityzens were fresh off the back of a Premier League title and were the favorites. Ahead of the match, when Onana was asked whether he ‘backed’ Ten Hag, he had a rather ‘cold’ response.

I'm not going to back him. He's big enough to back himself. He's a really good guy, he's tactically good too and he's a good man. Andre Onana said in an interview

The United No.24 has been part of an all-time low finish in the Premier League, grabbing eighth spot!

Andre Onana backed Marcus Rashford to score in FA Cup final

Manchester United forward Marcus Rashford had a season to forget under Ten Hag this year. As has been the case for the rest of the United squad, the Englishman has suffered from stop-start form and untimely injuries, ultimately allowing him to only score 7 goals in all competitions this season.

Rashford was out with injury for the final games of United’s Premier League campaign as well. However, when United got ready to take on Manchester City in the FA Cup final, Rashford was back to fitness.

Andre Onana, in a recent interview, appeared to be ecstatic and hopeful of his teammates return for the final. However, in the match, that did not happen as Alejandro Garnacho and Kobbie Mainoo scored the two goals for the side.

You (Rashford) can have a bad season, but the most important thing is how you end. He's facing difficult like me and the whole club. I know my killer. Hopefully he'll score two goals and we win the FA Cup. Andre Onana said in an interview

The United goalkeeper claimed that just because Rashford scored 7 goals this season compared to 30 in the previous one, he hasn’t become any less of the player he is. Onana also stressed that the club as a whole is going through a rough patch and not just him and Rashford.
