Cole Palmer breaks silence on Manchester United transfer links

Cole Palmer has excelled for Chelsea since his arrival at the club from Manchester City in 2023.

Since joining the London outfit, Palmer has featured 114 times, scoring 51 times, helping to provide stability to Chelsea as the team strive for success.

Meanwhile, looking at this season specifically, the midfielder has appeared on 23 occasions across all competitions, scoring eleven times and providing four assists.

As well as this, in the Premier League, his influence in attacking situations cannot be understated with his quality on show yesterday against Wolverhampton Wanderers, where the 23-year-old scored a first-half hat-trick in just 38 minutes.

With these arguably excellent figures in mind, links have been made between Palmer and Manchester United with him regularly making visits to his hometown of Wythenshawe in the Manchester area, potentially opening the door for a move to United.

However, Chelsea manager Liam Rosenior has commented on the rumours with him explaining that there is “nothing in it” when referring to the links present in the media.

Now, Cole Palmer himself has addressed the links between himself and a move to Old Trafford.

Speaking to the BBC, on their Match of the Day programme, the midfielder stated: “Everyone loves to chat rubbish, don’t they? I don’t pay too much attention to it.

“You see things. But I feel like I’ve come from a strong place anyway so I don’t pay attention to it.”

The English international also opened up on life at Chelsea under Liam Rosenior with him explaining: “Life under Liam [Rosenior] is amazing, he gives us all confidence.

“He lets us be ourselves, play free. I’m sure when I’m back proper fit, you’ll see the best of me.”

With Palmer now directly dismissing the links between himself and Manchester United, a move to Manchester now appears more unlikely.
