Cole Palmer Injury Status vs Aston Villa Confirmed

Star attacker Cole Palmer was taken off before the end of the fixture with Arsenal at the weekend. At one point in the match he went down and received treatment before playing on for a bit. Due to a groin issue, the England international has missed big chunks of this season so anytime he goes down it gets a communal gasp from the fanbase as a whole. With another Premier League outing in just a few days, it is already time for manager Liam Rosenior to speak to the media and he provided clarity over the status of his attacking talent.

Will Cole Palmer Start This Week vs Aston Villa

What Liam Rosenior Had to Say

The manager provided an update on the status of a number of players ahead of this fixture against the Villains. While someone like Estevao is deemed just fit to train on the grass, there was better news on his English colleague. The former Strasbourg coach noted that Palmer “took a knock” but that he is still fine and has looked good in training.

Rosenior went as far as to say that as of now, the attacker will be able to start the match on Wednesday, which will prove helpful given the lack of attacking options currently available in the squad.

What This Means for Chelsea

With attacking names like Jamie Gittens and Estevao injured and Pedro Neto now suspended, there is a sudden lack of trusted attacking talents, an injury to Palmer would have left the manager with just Alejandro Garnacho as a fit option to play either centrally or out wide as a new face in the eleven.

With the Englishman deemed fit, it means he can start against the Villans, allowing Rosenior to choose the best possible setup from him, Enzo Fernandez, Garnacho, and possibly Joao Pedro to play behind the striker.
