He’s adjusting well and his minutes will increase naturally.” The Spaniard refused to go into details about Dele Alli, however, confirming the Englishman was “training separately. Director Ludi is managing the situation.”

Fabregas underlined the importance of teamwork and attitude on the pitch, insisting that players leave their egos aside and give everything: “We’re not Messi or Ancelotti. Effort, hunger and helping one another is crucial.”

The coach has a number of options available to him this season, especially in the midfield and explained how this flexibility can help: “What you saw in pre-season is just a part of it. We vary positions in training, try new solutions and rotate midfielders. Da Cunha can play anywhere, Baturina can cover 8 and 10 and Sergi can operate as a 6 or an 8. It all depends on how the season unfolds.”
