Martin Baturina has agreed personal terms with Como and the offer on the table to GNK Dinamo Zagreb is €17m plus €7m in bonuses, but he is not seen as a replacement for Nico Paz.
There were already multiple reports earlier today that Como were close to a deal for the Croatia international midfielder.
Football Italia can confirm the 22-year-old has already agreed personal terms with the Serie A club, and crucially his agents have also accepted the commission on offer.
The negotiations are now just between the two clubs, and here too things are progressing well.
It had been suggested the asking price was €30m, but Como have put forward a proposal worth €17-18m as a fixed fee, plus a further €7m in add-ons and performance-related bonuses.
Although Baturina has been mentioned as a replacement for Nico Paz, the fact is Como are covering all bases with this intriguing move.
It means that if Real Madrid decide to leave Paz with coach Cesc Fabregas for another season, then the two can comfortably play together.
Real Madrid have a clause allowing them to buy Nico Paz back in 2025 for €8m or €9m in 2026.
Baturina’s talent is evident from the fact that when he was first linked with Inter and Fiorentina a year ago, his asking price was just €15m.
