Maik Nawrocki appears to be left out of Champions League squad but no-one is entirely sure at the moment…

Celtic today announced their Champions league Squad and there was a few noticeable absentees.

It will come of no surprise that James McCarthy was left out and also summer signings Marco Tillo and Kwon, but perhaps the most surprising and notable omission appears to be Polish centre back Maik Nawrocki.

He is of course out injured for eight weeks but so too is CCV and Stephen Welsh is out for even longer but both are included. Liam scales, Gustav Lagerbielke and Nat Phillips being our other centre backs so we are well stocked there if all are fit and available.

There seems to be some confusion regarding the squad list with several outlets putting Maik in the squad while also omitting Liam Scales but according to the official Uefa website it’s correct regarding the Polish defender’s omission.

That could be correct with regards to the homegrown numbers and that’s why Welsh is included ahead of Nawrocki with neither likely to play anyway due to their respective injuries.

Other than that there are no major changes and it’s full steam ahead as we get prepared for the greatest club competition of them all.
