Antonio Conte is due to sit down with Napoli President Aurelio De Laurentiis and sporting director Giovanni Manna to discuss his future on Tuesday afternoon, but the former Juventus coach has already made his decision and is expected to leave in order to rejoin the Bianconeri according to reports from various outlets.
Despite winning the Serie A title on his first attempt with Napoli in 2024-25, Conte is expected to walk away in order to join his former club Juventus, whom he coached to three consecutive league titles between 2011 and 2014.
De Laurentiis has already wished Conte all the best for the future during Napoli’s open-top bus parade in the city of Naples on Monday: “I wish Conte continuing success in his professional life. He is a man who deserves respect and success, because he puts the effort in on a daily basis. Thank you, Antonio!”
Napoli’s title celebrations will continue into Tuesday. The team are headed for Rome, where they will have a private audience with Pope Leo XIV. After that, there will be a decisive meeting between the senior Napoli management to discuss their futures.
According to reports from La Gazzetta dello Sport, unless there were any last-minute changes of heart overnight, Conte is expected to confirm his decision to step down as Napoli head coach.
The Pink Paper claims that Conte has an opportunity to leave Napoli through the front door rather than through the back, which they claim is the ‘best possible’ of circumstances for a departure, along the ongoing title celebrations.
