Antonio Conte gives an injury update on Scott McTominay and sees PSV Eindhoven vs. Napoli as ‘a big opportunity’ for Lorenzo Lucca to step up.

It kicks off at the PSV Stadion at 20.00 UK time (19.00 GMT).

The injury crisis continues for the Partenopei, who get McTominay back in the starting XI, but are still without Rasmus Hojlund, Stanislav Lobotka, Amir Rrahmani and Romelu Lukaku.

Conte gives Napoli injury updates

“McTominay can play, so that is good for us,” Conte told Sky Sport Italia.

With no other centre-forwards available, it is an opportunity for Lucca to make his mark in the Champions League, having arrived over the summer from Udinese.

“Those who have the chance to play from the start need to give important responses. Lorenzo is working hard, trying to raise his level, unfortunately Hojlund cannot be risked, but it’s a big opportunity for Lorenzo,” added Conte.

Napoli have struggled recently, losing two of their last three Serie A games, while they were beaten by Manchester City in the Champions League when down to 10 men, then defeated Sporting CP 2-1.

There are also options to come off the bench with more pace, such as David Neres and former PSV Eindhoven player Noa Lang.

“The initial approach will be important and we are up against a strong team that won their domestic league last season. We studied PSV, they will not be easy to play against, and then during the match we can make choices in the second half if some zones need to be reinforced,” concluded the coach.
