Manchester United are focused on finishing their 2024/25 season on a high note by winning the UEFA Europa League final against Tottenham Hotspur. Amid all that, they are also preparing plans for the upcoming summer transfer window and appear to have an interest in Nottingham Forest winger Callum Hudson-Odoi.
Sky Sports reporter Dharmesh Sheth has reported that the Red Devils are now keeping an eye on the English winger’s situation at Nottingham Forest. They have an interest in potentially bringing him in to improve their attacking line for the foreseeable future. The reporter also adds that Hudson-Odoi’s “contract [is] up next summer” but that the 24-year-old winger is holding talks with his club over a possible contract extension.
The reporter also claims that Serie A clubs Napoli and AS Roma have also showcased their interest in potentially signing the English winger. That means if Hudson-Odoi can’t agree to a new deal with Nottingham Forest, the Red Devils could potentially face competition from the Serie A giants for his talents.
Ruben Amorim’s side have experienced a shocking 2024/25 Premier League campaign, being stuck in 16th place after 36 games having only managed to score 42 goals in that period. So it’s not surprising that they’re looking for quality attacking players who can help improve both their goalscoring and their creativity levels going forward.
Hudson-Odoi has enjoyed a pretty prolific campaign with Nottingham Forest, playing a key role in helping them secure a top-6 place. He has scored five goals and provided three assists in 29 Premier League appearances this season, which includes goals against Manchester City and Newcastle United. The 24-year-old’s pace, dribbling ability, and spark in the final third have helped him start earning attention from the Red Devils. It now remains to be seen whether Hudson-Odoi, who is rumoured to be on £80,000-a-week wages at Nottingham Forest, is able to agree on a new deal with his club or become the centre of a possible transfer war in the summer.
