According to Fabrizio Romano , Everton have finally managed to sign Jack Harrison from Leeds United on a one-year loan deal after some “crazy developments with Aston Villa”.

Everton Activate Relegation Clause for Leeds United’s Jack Harrison

Harrison Wanted Aston Villa After Direct Call with Unai Emery

After completing a medical at Everton last night Romano reported Harrison left to travel to Villa as they had always been his first choice due to speaking directly to Emery.

The Midlands club had been informed of Harrison’s injury and he “could be out of action for 5-6 weeks”. The West Midlands side were looking for a direct replacement for Emi Buendia since his ACL injury.

Harrison had been a priority to The Villans since the 26-year-old sustained a nasty injury during training leaving the Argentine out for “up to 8 months”. The news of the hip injury sustained by the Englishman allowed Everton to swoop back in since they had already agreed terms and a medical.

The former Leeds player has been one of the top-performing wingers in the top flight over the last 3 campaigns and was also instrumental in their promotion run back in 2020. He totalled 37 goal contributions over the three seasons he spent in the top flight and rivalled the best English wide men the Premier League has to offer.

Everton Take a Gamble on Leeds United Winger

The Merseyside club are clearly happy to take a gamble on the Englishman as they went through with the signing despite the current hip injury. The Merseyside club are also targeting Leeds’ Wilfred Gnonto and have agreed terms with the teenager. The Italian international controversially made himself unavailable for Daniel Farke’s side over the past week as he is pushing for a move out of Yorkshire, however, the Whites are insisting the winger is not for sale.

It’s clear Everton are gaining Premier League-level talent, however, signing an injured player comes with a list of risks.
