Marcus Rashford joining FC Barcelona was not a move many expected ahead of the summer transfer window. Rashford leaving Manchester United was a wild idea a few years back, as he was seen as the future of the club.
Now 27 years old, Rashford has the opportunity to play for another giant in European football. The English forward has struggled with Man United over the last few seasons, but tried something new in January when he joined Aston Villa on loan.
Now set to join Barcelona on a season-long loan, reactions to the move are mixed among football fans. A former Man United teammate who reacted to the transfer move is Paul Pogba.
In a stream with iShowSpeed, Pogba gave his thoughts on Rashford joining Barcelona this summer. The French midfielder acknowledges how big the transfer is, despite it being a loan move.
When asked his thoughts on Rashford set to join Barcelona, Pogba was surprised to hear the news and believes Man United are losing a crucial player ahead of the new season.
Pogba also talks about how the club took away Rashford's number '10' jersey and how the manager, Ruben Amorim, does not consider the English forward for his plans next season.
Paul Pogba: "That's crazy. I'm happy for him because they took his number out. Man United, they're losing a great player, unlucky for them. Great for Barcelona. I'm not even talking about Manchester United, because they're bought a few players and the new manager [Amorim] wants to do his thing, I guess. So, it's not really his fault."
