Newly-promoted Serie A outfit Cremonese are closing in on the signing of Leicester City legend and 2016 Premier League winner Jamie Vardy, multiple outlets in Italy are reporting.
According to reports from Sky Sport Italia, Vardy has given his approval over a move to La Cremo on what will be a free transfer following the expiry of his Leicester deal at the end of last season.
Thursday’s updates claim that the last few details of the negotiation are now being finalised, and that the 38-year-old could soon arrive in Italy to complete the deal.
The 2016 Premier League winner has spent the last 13 seasons with Leicetser, nine of them in the English top flight, scoring 200 goals from 500 appearances across all competitions in the process.
He is one of 34 players to have scored 100 or more Premier League goals, and currently ranks 14th in the league’s all-time top scorer charts with 145 goals from 342 appearances.
