In an unusual post-match mix-up, Cremonese left Reggio Emilia after their away game against Sassuolo without Emil Audero, who was forced to make the journey back to Cremona alone by car.
Cremonese forgot their goalkeeper Audero behind after an away 1-0 loss against Sassuolo on Sunday.
As reported by Sky Sport Italia, Audero was talking to some Indonesian journalists in the mixed zone after the match when the Cremonese team bus left the Mapei Stadium without noticing the goalkeeper had not boarded.
After being notified by Sassuolo executives that Audero was still at the stadium, Cremonese arranged for a private driver to take him back.
Cremonese have also had on-field issues lately, having collected just three points in the last eight Serie A games.
They’ve only scored twice in this period, but they remain 14th in the standings, six points above the relegation zone.
Next Monday, they host Inter at the Stadio Zini, and none of their players should have any trouble getting home afterward.
