Cristiano Ronaldo returned to Manchester United 'to win again'

International superstar Cristiano Ronaldo recently completed an emotional return to English Premier League giants Manchester United, where he first played from 2003 through 2009 and earned numerous honors, including three league championship medals and his first UEFA Champions League final victory.

While the 36-year-old seems to be appreciating the emotional aspects of his homecoming, the five-time Ballon d'Or winner also told the United website this latest journey isn't merely some sort of farewell tour in which he'll merely go through the motions.

"I am not here for a vacation," Ronaldo explained. "As I told you, before was good, winning important things and I wore the shirt before many years ago, but I am here to win again.

"I am capable, me and my teammates. I am ready to go, I am ready to go. It is a good chance for me, for the supporters, for the club, to get one step ahead. I am ready and I think I will be a huge thing in the next three or four years."

By all accounts, Ronaldo seems set to make his Premier League and United re-debuts Saturday versus Newcastle United at Old Trafford. United then journey to play at Young Boys in a Tuesday Champions League matchup.
