A few carry the same weight that Cristiano Ronaldo does when it comes to both football and branding.

The Portuguese forward remains one of the most recognisable figures.

Now, a fresh development has pulled him back into the headlines.

Cristiano Ronaldo is set to reunited with Nike, with plans already in place for him to become one of the brand’s leading ambassadors again this year.

The renewed partnership signals a shift after a period where the relationship appeared to cool, particularly following the 2022 World Cup.

For a while, there were visible signs of distance, with Cristiano Ronaldo often seen wearing older boot colourways instead of promoting Nike’s latest releases.

That sparked speculation about whether the long-standing deal had lost its edge, especially considering how central he once was to Nike’s global campaigns.

Back in January, Ronaldo was spotted training with Al-Nassr wearing the latest Nike Mercurial Vapor 16 boots from the ‘Attack’ pack, the first time in a whole that he had used a current generation release in public.

According to Footy Headlines, Nike are preparing to launch two new signature boots for Ronaldo this year, including a standout golden Mercurial Vapor Superfly 1 CR7 edition, marking a return to the kind of personalised releases that defined his peak years.

For United fans, it brings back memories of his earlier spells at the club, where his partnership with Nike produced some of the most iconic boots of the era.

During his time at Old Trafford, Ronaldo fronted multiple signature Mercurial lines.

Those releases became part of football culture, worn by fans and players across the world.

Cristiano Ronaldo is currently out injured with a hamstring problem and missed his country’s international games during the latest international break but is set to be back before the end of the season and will be in Portugal’s squad for the World Cup.
