Crystal Palace winger high on Manchester United’s wish list

Reports of Manchester United being interested in Crystal Palace winger Michael Olise are gathering pace and he could be seen as a potential on the struggling Antony.

Antony didn’t start against Wigan Athletic in the FA Cup third round on Monday night. Instead, Erik ten Hag opted to start Alejandro Garnacho on the right wing, as he’s done lately whenever Marcus Rashford has been available to start on the opposite flank.

The Brazilian hasn’t reached expectations since joining United from Ajax last summer, but a lot of that could be down to having patience with a young player and giving him more time to adapt to the Premier League. Antony is just 23 but it would be naive to downplay how poor he’s been in a United shirt as one of Ten Hag’s most expensive signings.

Ten Hag obviously felt Antony warranted a big money move so early on in his career, but thus far the decision has backfired when you look at his output on the pitch.

Dean Jones has done an article for Sports Lens stating that United are showing serious interest in Olise, with the winger high on the club’s wish list for the summer transfer window.

However, the 22-year-old is also wanted by Arsenal after his impressive displays for Palace for more than two years.

It remains to be seen if Ten Hag will sign a right winger in the summer, but with Antony performing and Jadon Sancho unlikely to play for the club ever again, there’s definitely room for an addition in that department.
