Daizen Maeda, frustrated by injury blow, puts his trust in his Celtic teammates

Daizen Maeda is putting his trust in his Celtic teammates to get the job done in the Scottish Premiership and the Scottish Cup after his hamstring injury seems certain to have ruled him out for the remaining matches of this season.

Brendan Rodgers on Friday afternoon at Lennoxtown, in his media conference which included The Celtic Star broke the news of the Japanese winger’s injury situation. “Unfortunately, I’m not sure we’ll see Daizen again this season, I don’t expect him to feature too much. It’s such a small window now,” the Celtic manager said.

Now Daizen has confirmed he’s not going to be playing, much to the disappointment of his young son, but has instead put his trust in his Celtic teammates.

“What’s most frustrating is that I won’t be able to show my son, who loves soccer, playing, but right now I just have to trust in my teammates and do what I can!” Daizen Maeda posted on social media, as he gets set to sit out the rest of this season with a hamstring injury picked up at Ibrox last weekend.

Daizen fellow countrymen Reo Hatate and Kyogo certainly did their bit yesterday afternoon at Celtic Park, both scoring quality goals in Celtic’s 3-0 win over St Mirren, a result that opens up a four point gap on theRangers ahead of their match in Dingwall against Ross County at lunchtime today.
