Everton owner Dan Friedkin has made his position clear regarding a potential summer sale of Iliman Ndiaye to Manchester United.

After several years spent offloading key players to stay within Premier League financial rules, Everton finally appear to be on more stable ground.

Ndiaye is drawing attention from Man United after another impressive campaign on Merseyside.

Backed by The Friedkin Group, the Toffees are no longer under pressure to make sales and can be more selective in their transfer dealings.

And when it comes to Ndiaye’s future at Goodison Park, Friedkin seems prepared to draw a line.

Friedkin is close to finalising a new sponsorship deal at Everton, which should give David Moyes more financial flexibility in the upcoming transfer window.

As the Toffees look to strengthen their squad in the coming months, the American businessman is determined to keep Ndiaye away from Old Trafford.

Ben Jacobs told The United Stand: “I mean for me, Iliman Ndiaye isn’t your typical like left winger. He can play anywhere and he loves going central.

“So that’s why I’m led to believe that they’re (United) not really pushing on that. And as we’ve said before, Everton’s perspective is the same as Jarrad Branthwaite. Man United bid multiple times for Jarrad Branthwaite and Dan Friedkin and his team said, ‘No, we’re not selling’.

“Everton do not see themselves as a selling club. So, I think Ndiaye may look for a move, but I’m under the impression from Everton sources that he’s going to be really difficult to get out of that football club this summer and they might even offer him improved terms,” the journalist concluded.

Ndiaye has spoken about wanting to win trophies with Everton, a goal that now seems more achievable under the club’s new leadership.

Despite the recent inconsistent results that may be frustrating supporters, Friedkin’s determination to keep the No. 10 at the club demonstrates the shifting mentality on Merseyside.

Everton should look to tie Iliman Ndiaye down with a new contract

A stronger show of commitment from the Friedkin family would be to reject any summer move by securing Ndiaye with improved terms.

Recently, Everton News suggested that the club could aim to extend Ndiaye’s deal before the year is out.

Since arriving on Merseyside, the Senegal international has hit a good run of form for Everton, becoming a key part of their attack.

It is no surprise other clubs are interested given how he has performed in an Everton shirt.

Ndiaye has scored 16 goals since joining, and losing him would leave a significant gap up front that would not be easy to fill.
