Roberto D’Aversa is now free to take on new opportunities after agreeing to terminate his contract with Empoli following his departure from the club at the end of the 2024-25 season.

D’Aversa cuts ties with Empoli

D’Aversa was dismissed as head coach of Empoli following their relegation from Serie A at the end of the 2024-25 campaign.

He had originally been appointed in the summer of 2024, and had signed a two-year contract at that time, which meant that he was still entitled to payment until the summer of 2026.

However, Empoli and D’Aversa have recently come to an agreement to terminate that arrangement, which means that the coach is now free to consider, and should he please, take on opportunities elsewhere.

Empoli were relegated in cruel circumstances, on the final day of the 2024-25 campaign. That is despite D’Aversa having taken the side to the semi-final of the Coppa Italia a few weeks earlier.
