Feyenoord defender David Hancko , in an interview, addressed questions about his future amid recent media reports of a move away from the Eredivisie outfit. The 26-year-old is being targeted by Manchester United and Atletico Madrid.
The Red Devils are reportedly interested in signing Slovenian defender David Hancko after an impressive season for both club and country. Hancko, who recently played in the 2024 Euros in Germany, is a versatile defender capable of playing both center-back and left-back. This makes him a potentially valuable addition to cover for Lisandro Martinez and Luke Shaw, who have not yet fully recovered from their injuries.
Hancko’s abilities have also drawn interest from Spanish giants Atletico Madrid, who have made offers worth €35 million. Addressing transfer rumors, Hancko denied media reports that he was influenced by Atletico’s lucrative salary offers. The Feyenoord defender emphasized his loyalty to the Dutch club and stated that his decision doesn’t revolve around financial gains. Moreover, he clarified that the transfer fee is a matter between the clubs.
Atletico Madrid? I didn't like how the media said my head was turned because of the salary Atleti would have offered… that’s not true. For me, it’s not about the money. I love Feyenoord. David Hancko on Atletico Madrid links (via ESPN)

Additionally, Manchester United, besides being interested in Hancko, are close to acquiring Dutch center-back Matthijs De Ligt.
The Red Devils have reportedly made offers to complete a double transfer swoop from Bayern Munich for defenders Matthijs De Ligt and Noussair Mazraoui . The club submitted a joint offer to sign the duo last week.
The club is seeking to strengthen its defensive options following a recent injury to new signing Leny Yoro. Personal terms have already been agreed upon with both players, who are eager to move to Old Trafford. The double deal would cost up to €70 million, with Mazraoui and De Ligt considered surplus to Bayern’s requirements.
Mazraoui would replace United full-back Aaron Wan-Bissaka , who has verbally agreed on personal terms with West Ham. Meanwhile, Victor Lindelof could be sold to make room for the Dutch center-back.
