De Bruyne set for Man City return with Napoli

Kevin De Bruyne will have an opportunity to visit his old colleague at Manchester City in the near future, as his Napoli side have been drawn against the Premier League heavyweights in the Champions League league phase.

The Champions League league phase draw is taking place on Thursday evening. Napoli are in pot three of the draw.

De Bruyne gets Man City in Champions League draw

Manchester City, meanwhile, were in pot one along with the other top seeded teams in the competition.

Their fixtures were among the first to be drawn by UEFA’s supercomputer, and have since learned that they will face Borussia Dortmund, Real Madrid, Bayer Leverkusen, Villarreal, Napoli, Bodo/Glimt, Galatasaray and Monaco in their eight league phase matches.

This brings a reunion for De Bruyne and his former head coach Pep Guardiola, who spent nine seasons working together at The Etihad.

This will be Napoli’s first appearance in the Champions League since 2023-24, returning after their Serie A title victory in 2024-25 after a one-year absence.
