Napoli President Aurelio De Laurentiis has made a transfer promise to Antonio Conte, convincing the coach to take a few more days to decide on his future at the Stadio Maradona.

Tuesday’s meeting between Conte and De Laurentiis was supposed to determine the end of their rapport after just one season. However, several sources have reported that the summit ended with Conte unsure about his future at the Stadio Maradona, taking a few more days to decide on his next steps.

As reported by Corriere dello Sport, Napoli are pushing to convince their title-winning boss to stay around for at least one more season.

Conte is under contract until June 2027.

ADL met Conte after visiting the Pope yesterday, promising the coach to build an even stronger team for 2025-26.

Kevin De Bruyne is close to signing for the Partenopei, but Napoli are also confident of getting Jonathan David from Lille, also as a free agent.

Corriere dello Sport reports that De Laurentiis has promised Conte ‘an even stronger team’ for next season.

Meanwhile, the Partenopei owner has already contacted Massimiliano Allegri as a potential replacement for Conte, should he leave.

What De Laurentiis said about Conte

Speaking after Napoli’s title parade on Monday, ADL said: “He [Conte] showed the whole world that systems are useless, all you need is a great knowledge of what football really means.

“So for him who took us all the way to win the second Scudetto in three years, I ask for an applause, thank you, thank you, thank you!

“I wish Conte continuing success in his professional life. He is a man who deserves respect and success, because he puts the effort in on a daily basis. Thank you, Antonio!”
