Juventus legend Alessandro Del Piero feels that the Bianconeri’s draw against Borussia Dortmund is ‘worth more than one point’ in terms of self-awareness.
Juventus scored two late goals in their Champions League opener against Borussia Dortmund last night, securing a dramatic 4-4 draw at the Allianz Stadium.
The visitors took the lead three times and were leading by two goals at minute 85, but goals from Dusan Vlahovic and Lloyd Kelly allowed the Old Lady to rescue one point.
“Juventus were able to find different energies, sometimes with patience, other times with rage and grit, until the end, as the Bianconeri motto says,” Del Piero told Sky Sport.
“Right now, these are positive things for Juve; the same had happened against Inter. These are nice signals. They show that the team is alive, has belief and trusts the coach. These are positive signals, so I’d say that this draw is worth more than a point, especially for how the game unfolded in the final minutes. It’s worth one point in the table, but in terms of self-awareness, it’s worth three.”
Juventus already beat Inter 4-3 on Saturday, scoring two goals in the final ten minutes with Khephren Thuram and Vasilije Adzic.
Dusan Vlahovic had a key role in Juventus’ 4-4 draw yesterday as he scored two goals and provided one assist as a substitute.
The Serbia international has already netted four goals in four appearances across all competitions this season.
Juventus’ next Serie A game is away at Hellas Verona on Saturday, September 20.
