Tottenham Hotspur are actively preparing for the summer transfer window, with Como’s rising star Nico Paz emerging as a prime target for the club.
Spurs have been keeping a close eye on Paz’s development in Serie A, and former Tottenham midfielder Dele Alli could play a crucial role in influencing the 20-year-old’s decision to move to North London.
Having recently joined Como, Alli now has the opportunity to provide Paz with valuable insight into what life at Tottenham is like, potentially giving Spurs an edge in securing the midfielder’s signature.
Dele Alli could help convince Nico Paz to join Tottenham
Former club scout Bryan King believes that Alli will likely discuss a potential move with Paz, which could help convince the Argentine playmaker to consider a Premier League switch.
Paz is expected to be valued at around £12 million, though his price could rise to £20 million if he continues his impressive form.
King also suggested that the Lilywhites could include a pre-season friendly against Como as part of the negotiations, a move that would not only strengthen ties between the clubs but also give Alli a chance to return to Spurs in a special setting.
Speaking to Tottenham News, King stated:
“I’m sure that Alli will have words with Paz.
“He will no doubt be very interested to hear what Alli has to say about life at Tottenham. I’d imagine the starting price for Paz will be around £12million, and that could reach a figure of £20m if he is as successful as everyone hopes he will be.
“Perhaps a pre-season game with Como will be included in that deal too. That would be of big interest to the club, and of big interest to Alli, who would be able to make a wonderful return to Tottenham.”
Paz, a product of Real Madrid’s famed academy, made his first-team debut for Los Blancos in the Champions League before securing a €6 million transfer to Como in August 2024.
Since his arrival, he has impressed with six goals and five assists in 25 Serie A appearances, taking his overall tally across all competitions and levels to 24 goals and 12 assists. (Transfermarkt)
Real Madrid included a buy-back clause in the deal, allowing them to re-sign him for €8 million in the summer of 2025, with the fee increasing in subsequent years. Additionally, they retain a 50% sell-on clause, meaning they would receive half of any future transfer fee if Como sells him elsewhere.
With Tottenham aiming to bolster their midfield options, signing Paz could be a smart long-term investment. If Alli plays a role in making the transfer happen, it would further cement his legacy among Spurs supporters.

The Athletic revealed that The Reds were “only prepared to sell the forward for what they considered to be his full market value”. Liverpool will have done well to maximise the profit out of this sale, considering it was clear that the 28-year-old wanted a move. £65 Million Sale Important for Following Financial Regulations Liverpool have signed players for a combined £270 million this summer, bringing in Florian Wirtz, Hugo Ekitike, Milos Kerkez, and Jeremie Frimpong. This was much needed, despite their success in the league last season, as last summer, new manager Arne Slot was given just one signing: Federico Chiesa. Whilst the Merseyside outfit won’t be nearing any rule-breaking at current, the £30 million profit may be useful in the future. Shedeur Sanders gets new chance after Browns QB injury
Shedeur Sanders has been working with the Cleveland Browns' equipment staff as the No. 4 quarterback this summer. He'll have a new opportunity following troubling injury news for Kenny Pickett. Per Adam Schefter of ESPN, Pickett suffered a hamstring injury during Saturday's practice and will not receive reps until his issue is re-evaluated. "Browns QB Kenny Pickett injured his hamstring near the end of Saturday’s practice and is expected to re-evaluate the injury later this week, per sources," Schefter posted on X. "Pickett was coming off a strong couple of practices, per sources, and at least for the short term, there now will be more reps for Joe Flacco, Dillon Gabriel and Shedeur Sanders. Pickett's injury will shake up the quarterback race in Cleveland. Through OTAs and early in training camp, Sanders has been the odd man out as the only signal caller on the roster not to receive reps with the first-team offense. It's unclear if the Browns coaching staff intends to give Sanders reps with the first-team offense now that Pickett is sidelined, but the fifth-round pick will have more chances this week to prove that he deserves an opportunity to stay in Cleveland. The Browns are in a unique situation with their rookie quarterbacks. Third-round pick Dillon Gabriel was selected before Sanders, but the son of Deion Sanders fell to Day 3 of the draft for reasons other than talent. The majority of draft analysts had Sanders as a better-graded quarterback than Gabriel, and many thought the Colorado product would be taken in the first round. The Browns can use the injury as an excuse to give Sanders reps with the first team, and it's a task they need to take advantage of before the team names a starter. Sanders has the potential to be a starter in the league, and this week is pivotal for his rookie season in Cleveland.

The Bleacher Report’s Eric Pincus has suggested a new, three-team trade between the Dallas Mavericks, Los Angeles Lakers and Brooklyn Nets that would send LeBron James, alongside his son Bronny James, to Dallas in a dramatic, yet significant deal to reshape all three teams’ futures. Here’s why. LeBron James to the Dallas Mavericks LeBron James opted into his $52.6 million player option for the 2025-26 NBA season. However, James’ decision was met with skepticism by several NBA executives. Some NBA insiders expected James, 40, to opt out and sign a one-plus-one deal. The decision drove chatter of possible discontent and a potential end to his Lakers run. James holds one of the NBA’s rare no-trade clauses. Therefore, James can decide where he would land. Multiple NBA insiders have said that the Dallas Mavericks are high on James’ list. Joining the Mavericks would allow James to reunite with Kyrie Irving, join forces with Anthony Davis again, and play under Jason Kidd, who served as an assistant coach during the Lakers’ 2020 NBA championship run. James, Mavericks Outlook LeBron James is 40 years old and will turn 41 on December 30, 2025. However, James is still playing like a top-tier NBA player. If the Dallas Mavericks acquire James, the Mavericks could receive star power, shot creation, and veteran leadership. A Mavericks goal appears to be winning while the team’s NBA championship window is still open. The Mavericks would receive LeBron James (via Lakers), Bronny James (via Lakers), Drew Timme (via Nets), Tyrese Martin (via Nets), a $1.8 million trade exception, and a $1.1 million trade exception. The Mavericks could benefit from a solid core of James, Anthony Davis, Kyrie Irving, Cooper Flagg and Dereck Lively II. The Lakers would receive Daniel Gafford (via Mavericks), PJ Washington (via Mavericks), Naji Marshall (via Mavericks), Caleb Martin (via Mavericks), Jaden Hardy (via Mavericks), a 2030 Los Angeles Lakers second-round pick (via Nets), a 2031 Los Angeles Lakers second-round pick (via Nets) and a $24.1 million trade exception. The Lakers could start the Luka Doncic era. The Brooklyn Nets would receive Dalton Knecht (via Lakers), Maxi Kleber (via Lakers), Olivier-Maxence Prosper (via Mavericks) and Dwight Powell (via Mavericks). The Nets would serve as a facilitator, as the team would acquire assets while helping two contenders shift money around, and perhaps cash considerations. Final Thoughts It’s highly unlikely that LeBron James will be traded to the Dallas Mavericks. However, nothing can be ruled out. The NBA world saw the Luka Doncic trade to the Los Angeles Lakers this past February, and if they’re old enough to remember, the Jason Kidd trade to the Phoenix Suns in December 1996. If and when James is traded to Dallas, James’ presence can help the Mavericks succeed. James can help improve team chemistry, instill confidence in the team, and build a winning culture. James can play multiple positions as a forward, but a huge concern would be James’ declining gameplay and shooting stats.
Tom Cruise rejected Interview with the Vampire sequel
Tom Cruise refused to return for the 'Interview with the Vampire' sequel. The 62-year-old actor starred in the 1994 horror picture – which is based on the 1976 Anne Rice novel of the same name - as the blood-sucking Lestat de Lioncourt, and director Neil Jordan has now revealed that a follow-up to the movie was shelved after Cruise ruled out reprising his role for another film. Speaking with Variety, the 74-year-old filmmaker said: "I was asked to write a script of 'The Vampire Lestat', which I did. And quite simply, Tom didn’t want to reprise the role. It was as simple as that. "And it would’ve been quite a different animal. If Mr. Cruise had said he would do it, I’m sure they would’ve done it. But at the time he wasn’t doing sequels." The 'Mission: Impossible' actor starred opposite Brad Pitt in the flick, who played the heartbroken widow Louis de Pointe du Lac who goes on to become a vampire after Cruise's Lestat bites him. While the 'Top Gun' star had previously joked about the homoerotic undertones between his and Pitt's characters, Jordan insisted he wanted this theme to be prevalent in the film to stay faithful to Rice's original novel. The director explained: "I just wanted to be accurate to Anne’s book. "Once Louis is turned into a vampire, he’s stuck with this companion who is half a lover, half a manipulator. And any of the sexual undertones that are there are expressed through blood, and through the desire for blood. "So I would say there is exactly the amount of eroticism, homoeroticism or otherwise, that there was in Anne’s novel. "And in fact, when I did my draft I had to reintroduce as much as I could of those elements." 'Interview with the Vampire' went on to earn an impressive $223.6 million at the worldwide box office when it hit theatres in 1994, and the moviemaker said it was "really gratifying" to have worked on such a commercially successful project.
