Denmark coach Kasper Hjulmand was delighted with the performance of Mikkel Damsgaard in last night's win against Faroe Islands.

Damsgaard selection has created controversy over his lack of action for Brentford.

But Hjulmand said: "I'm glad you can see it, because there are many who can't see it, but what he does, you have to be able to see.

"He moves between the lines and is always furthest away from his opponents. He just gets to open things once in a while.

"If you look back at matches like at home against Scotland and Israel, where it was a bit heavy at the start, then 'Dams' was a bit of a can opener, and he also had the three situations here against the Faroe Islands, where he set something up, and then he moves around between the lines at the same time.

"I really hope that he stays up and can get himself moved, because he does something that others can't."
