Diego Costa Scores First Premier League Goal In Six Years

Former Chelsea striker Diego Costa scored in the Premier League for the first time in nearly six years on Saturday.

Costa, who scored 59 goals in 120 EPL games for Chelsea between 2014 and 2017, returned to England in September last year when he joined Wolves.

The 34-year-old had failed to find the net in his first 18 appearances for Wolves in all competitions, but he finally got off the mark 27 minutes into Saturday's home game against Brentford.

Costa's goal came from a very scrappy finish but he had looked sharp in the build-up.

He had picked up a short pass from Pablo Sarabia inside his own half before turning and carrying the ball forward 20 yards.

Costa then played the ball wide to Toti Gomes. When Toti returned the ball to Costa inside the penalty area, his first touch was heavy.

That poor touch allowed Christian Norgaard to tackle Costa, but the Brentford midfielder kicked the ball into the striker's shin and the ball flew into the net.

This was Costa's first EPL goal in 2155 days.
