Tottenham boss Thomas Frank has provided the latest fitness update on Dominic Solanke.

Tottenham Hotspur striker Dominic Solanke has been sidelined for most of this season, and there hasn’t been a return timescale.

Dominic Solanke was signed in 2024 as a replacement for the legendary Harry Kane, after a fantastic season with Bournemouth, where he bagged 19 goals in the Premier League. However, he has struggled with injuries since making the move to White Hart Lane. The Englishman endured an injury-hit debut campaign, yet managed to contribute well in the Europa League, winning last term.

This season, the 28-year-old has not been available to relatively new Spurs boss Thomas Frank, whose side have struggled for goals in his absence. Solanke, who underwent a minor ankle surgery at the start of October, has made just two substitute appearances in the Premier League under Thomas Frank.

At the start of December, the England international dropped a cryptic message about his comeback from injury on his Instagram account. And last week, Solanke was spotted in team training ahead of Tottenham’s trip to Brentford. In the video clip, the centre-forward was seen doing regular drills at the Hotspur Way.

After the 0-0 draw with Brentford on New Year’s Day, Frank was asked to give an update on Solanke and his return to team training. To which, the Tottenham boss admitted there was a possibility Solanke could be available for selection in January. (h/t Football London)

“So that is positive, no doubt of that. He is out there on the pitch, and part of training with the group. It feels that there could be a possibility for that, yeah.”

Solanke has continued to progress in his rehabilitation after undergoing ankle surgery. The club-record buy returning to team training earlier this week, and Frank suggesting that there could be a chance of him making his comeback later this month, is a massive boost.

Not only has Spurs missed his goals, but also the pressing, hold-up play, link-up and off-the-ball work from the Englishman made him such a vital component in the attack during the 2024/25 campaign. After being sidelined for several months, the ex-Bournemouth star must be raring to get back to action.

It would not be wrong to say that Solanke, whenever he returns, will appear as a new signing for the north Londoners.
