Cagliari are to sign Inter Milan striker Sebastiano Esposito in a deal reportedly worth at least €5 million.
This according to today’s print edition of Rome-based newspaper Corriere dello Sport, via FCInterNews.
Cagliari have been pushing to sign Sebastiano Esposito from Inter over the last few days.
The Rossoblu had actually made their big push to try and get a deal for the 23-year-old done about a week ago.
However, Parma also attempted to hijack Cagliari’s talks to sign Esposito.
In the end, reports suggest that Esposito’s own desire to make the switch proved to be key. Therefore, he will undergo his medicals with Cagliari, potentially as early as today.
Apart from the tug-of-war with Parma, Cagliari have also spent several days negotiating the terms of the deal with Inter.
There has been reporting indicating that the Rossoblu will owe a significant sell-on fee to Inter.
And in terms of the transfer fee, the Nerazzurri will not receive the €6-8 million that they reportedly sought.
However, according to the Corriere dello Sport, the cash value of the deal will be at least €5 million.
