Canadian international winger Tajon Buchahan is set to join Villarreal on a permanent transfer from Inter Milan.
This according to Italian broadcaster SportMediaset, via FCInterNews. They report that the La Liga club will pay Inter a fee of €9 million, plus a percentage of resale.
Tajon Buchanan is once again an Inter Milan player after the end of his loan spell at Villarreal.
The Canadian international left the Nerazzurri on loan during the January transfer window. Villarreal had an option to sign him on a permanent basis, but have not exercised it.
Buchanan may be have returned to Inter. But he hardly has a place in the Nerazzurri’s plans for next season.
Therefore, Inter have aimed to sell the 26-year-old once and for all this summer.
A few clubs showed an interest in signing Buchanan this summer.
The likes of Brentford and Eintracht Frankfurt reportedly eyed up a deal.
Then, Sassuolo had also seemingly been close to signing Buchanan, keeping the Canadian in Serie A.
However, it is in fact Villarreal who will be bringing Buchanan back on a permanent basis after all.
The Spaniards came forward with a new offer for the Canadian. And according to Mediaset, the two clubs finalized a deal today.
The broadcaster reports that Villarreal will pay Inter €9 million for Buchanan, as well as a sell-on fee.
