Nottingham Forest have agreed a €40m plus bonuses deal with Bologna for Dan Ndoye, claims Fabrizio Romano , after Napoli backed off, and can fly out for his medical in the next 24 hours.
There had already been suggestions from Sky Sport Italia that Nottingham Forest were now pushing hard to get a deal over the line.
The story moved rapidly, with transfer pundit Romano now suggesting the two clubs have reached a verbal agreement over the fee.
It will be worth circa €40m plus add-ons, believed to include a percentage of the sell-on fee.
This is the figure that Football Italia’s own Alfredo Pedullà had warned was considered unacceptable by Napoli, who were not prepared to get into a full-blown bidding war with the Premier League side.
Ndoye had agreed personal terms with both Napoli and Nottingham Forest over a week ago, so was waiting to see which club made the necessary steps first.
The Switzerland international scored nine goals with six assists in 41 official matches for Bologna last season, helping them to win the Coppa Italia by beating Milan in the Final.
He is now expected to fly out to England for his medical tests within the next 24 hours.
