Sassuolo have successfully agreed their swoop for Venezia pair Jay Idzes and Fali Candé, doing a double deal for a total of circa €12m, as we had exclusively revealed.

The valuation that the Lagunari had placed on defender Idzes was always €8-9m, while they wanted circa €3m for Candé, and those figures are confirmed in this agreement.

Both players had been repeatedly linked with other clubs around Serie A, but those deals never managed to get over the line for one reason or another.

Idzes and Candé all set for Sassuolo

Idzes has been associated with Genoa, but there was no margin for a handshake, while we had stated repeatedly that Torino would only have made it stick if they first sold Saul Coco, but nobody was prepared to meet the €20m asking price.

As for Candé, he had been a target for Hellas Verona, but making this a double deal gave Sassuolo a significant advantage, putting them in a privileged position to get the all clear.

Now we are down to the details, but Sassuolo’s interest had been a surprise when we revealed it on Football Italia several days ago.
