There are reports that Atalanta have agreed a deal with Southampton for winger Kamaldeen Sulemana worth a total €21m, who can reunite with Ivan Juric.
According to Sky Sport Italia transfer pundit Gianluca Di Marzio, the clubs are ready to shake hands for the Ghana international.
The precise figures of the agreement should be €17m fixed fee, plus another €4m in performance-related bonuses.
Southampton can also keep a 15 per cent cut of the future sale if he does leave Bergamo in future.
The first report of Atalanta interest in Sulemana came from Football Italia’s own Alfredo Pedulla on June 20.
The versatile 23-year-old can play as a left-sided winger, a support striker or even a centre-forward if required.
Sulemana only made the move from Stade Rennes in January 2023 for €25m and is under contract with the Saints until June 2027.
Their relegation from the Premier League, with coach Juric at the helm for some of this season, has forced them to sell at a cheaper price than they would’ve liked.
Juric has just taken on a new job in charge of Atalanta, a club trying to build on the work performed in nine years by Gian Piero Gasperini.
Sulemana made 30 competitive appearances for Southampton this season, contributing two goals and three assists between the Premier League, FA Cup and EFL Cup.
