Manchester United entertained Newcastle United at Old Trafford earlier tonight as they hoped to earn all three points at home in the Premier League. The Red Devils made a bright start to the game and got their noses ahead in the 24th minute thanks to Patrick Dorgu’s great strike. Ruben Amorim’s men went into the half-time break 1-0 up on the scoreline.

The Mancunian giants controlled the game well in the second 45 minutes and earned a narrow 1-0 win at the Theatre of Dreams.

Let’s take a look at how each Manchester United player fared during the clash against the Magpies.

GK: Senne Lammens – 7/10

Lammens made a couple of solid saves at the back and earned an important clean sheet at home.

CB: Lisandro Martinez – 7/10

He cleared the danger when he could and made one decent chance going forward.

CB: Ayden Heaven – 7/10

Heaven was a rock at the back and was accurate with his passing.

CB: Luke Shaw – 7/10

He gave a good account of himself on the defensive end of the field and won a few aerial duels as well.

RM: Diogo Dalot – 7/10

He performed his defensive duties well but offered very little going forward.

CM: Manuel Ugarte – 7.5/10

Ugarte anchored the midfield well and made two decent runs with the ball.

CM: Casemiro – 7/10

He anchored the midfield well for his team and was replaced at the hour mark.

LM: Patric Dorgu – 8.5/10

Dorgu came back to defend when he could and was a real menace in the Newcastle half. He ended up scoring the only goal of the game in the 24th minute.

RAM: Mason Mount – 6.5/10

He caught the eye at times in the first half but failed to register a goal.

LAM: Mathues Cunha – 7/10

Cunha caused a lot of headaches for his marker but failed to find the back of the net.

ST: Benjamin Sesko – 7/10

He linked up play well with others around him and was unfortunate to hit the post.

Substitutes:

CM: Jack Fletcher – 6/10

He added some energy to Amorim’s midfield.

ST: Joshua Zirkzee – 6/10

His impact on the game was minimal.

CB: Leny Yoro – 6.5/10

He kept things solid at the back.

LB: Tyrell Malacia – N/A

CB: Tyler Fredricson – N/A
