Francesco Totti divided the Roma fans with his fiery comments regarding Paulo Dybala, but the club have no doubts surrounding the Argentine’s future.
Totti sparked controversy amongst the Giallorossi faithful on Tuesday when he complained about the amount of time the 30-year-old Argentinian forward spends on the pitch, suggesting he only plays ’15 games a year’, being too injury prone to be a reliable talisman.
Dybala has seen almost 2000 minutes of action across 28 matches this season, scoring 14 goals and providing seven assists, numbers that have been used as a talking point in the heated debates in the Roma fanbase, with some agreeing with Totti’s position and others backing the former Juventus man.
Corriere dello Sport via TMW details how the Roma fans are split regarding the future of Dybala, but the club have no doubts, confident that he’ll stay in the capital for the foreseeable future despite his €12m release clause.
Considering his age and €6m net per season wages, the Giallorossi management do not fear a possible exit for the Argentine star, who is working hard to be fully fit for Daniele De Rossi in the business end of this season.
