Everton boss Sean Dyche says squad planning for next season is underway.

The Blues are safe from the drop and will host Sheffield United on Saturday.

Dyche said: "Well I didn't know at the time and ever since I got here I have been tying to manage a situation when the goalposts move significantly at any given time so I don't think I am in new waters on that side. That's the shifting sands at this football club, currently. I've said many times you want to put a base into the football club to build from and it's not quite there yet."

On making decisions on players, he said: "We're having to manage different situations the best we can, myself and the staff looking at players, options, obviously the ones in-house currently, the ones that are controllable as we see fit contractually and still that has to go to the interim board and the owner is in ownership to sign off on certain situations. The club has to keep moving forward of course.

"Outside of that it is more tricky on the transfer side. What money is available? What money gets generated as normal? Trying to imagine all of these scenarios."
