Manchester City talent Claudio Echeverri seemed set for a move to France or Spain, but the latest updates from Italy claim the 19-year-old wants to join Roma.
Calciomercato.com reports that Manchester City talent Echeverri is determined to snub a loan move to Girona to join Roma, also on a temporary transfer.
British sources claimed on Wednesday that Echeverri would move to either France or Spain this summer, but the Italian media outlet reports today that the 19-year-old is eager to play for the Giallorossi in the 2025-26 season.
Girona had emerged as the best-placed team in Spain to secure the striker’s signature, given that City Group own both the La Liga side and City.
According to the report, Roma are open to discussing a loan deal with an option to buy, but Manchester City don’t want to lose control over the player, so they’ll only consider a dry loan spell for the 19-year-old.
An agreement on personal terms would not be an issue for Roma with Echeverri reportedly eager to move to the capital because of Roma fans’ passion and the possibility to work with Gian Piero Gasperini.
