The transfer window has been open for nearly one month but Manchester United have been slow to get off the line and to make signings.

United’s pursuit of Elliot Anderson collapsed as he joined Manchester City whilst Mateus Fernandes officially joined Tottenham Hotspur.

Sandro Tonali also appears to be on his way to Spurs after agreeing a deal with the London outfit earlier this week.

The Red Devils agreed a deal with Ederson before the transfer window opened, a signing that is expected to be completed in the coming weeks.

Outside of that, however, recruitment has been noticeably slow. That is not to say that the club have not been linked with any players.

The transfer window closes at the beginning of September, providing the club with plenty of time to sign players that can push Michael Carrick’s squad to the next level.

Away from the first-team, though, Manchester United’s youth academy continues to produce exciting talent for the future.

The Red Devils now appear to have completed their latest move with Edson DeJonge-Seiros announcing on Instagram that he has signed a new deal with the club.

DeJonge-Seiros, who has been with Manchester United since Under-6s level, has signed as an academy scholar, a major milestone in his developing career.

In 2023, the versatile player (who can play in midfield, on the wing, and up front) signed a deal with Adidas. Now, his next step has been taken through signing as a scholar with United.

New and emerging talent made an impression on the first-team in the previous campaign as Michael Carrick and his team secured Champions League football for next season.

Edson DeJonge-Seiros will hope that he can make the progress required to make a similar impact in the coming years.
