Ekitike Gets 9, Wirtz With 8 | Liverpool Players Rated In Solid Win Vs Brighton

Liverpool welcomed Brighton and Hove Albion at Anfield earlier this afternoon as they looked to earn all three points at home in the Premier League. The Reds made a dream start to the contest and got their noses ahead in the first minute when Hugo Ekitike found the back of the net. Arne Slot’s men went into the half-time break 1-0 up on the scoreline.

Ekitike doubled his team’s advantage in the 60th minute as the Merseyside club earned a solid 2-0 win in front of their home fans.

Let’s take a look at how each Liverpool player performed during the clash against the Seagulls.

GK: Alisson Becker – 7/10

He made one good save at the back and did enough to keep a clean sheet.

RB: Joe Gomez – 7/10

Gomez secured an assist for setting up Ekitike’s opener, but had to be replaced in the 25th minute.

CB: Ibrahima Konate – 8/10

Konate was a rock at the back and would be quite pleased with the clean sheet.

CB: Virgil Van Dijk – 7.5/10

He put his foot through the ball when required and did enough to restrict the opposition from scoring.

LB: Milos Kerkez – 7.5/10

He came back to defend when needed and made one good chance going forward.

CM: Ryan Gravenberch – 7/10

Gravenberch caught the eye at times on both ends of the field.

CM: Alexis Mac Allister – 6.5/10

He was full of energy and running in the middle of the park, but there was no goal for him.

CM: Curtis Jones – 7.5/10

Jones was positive on the ball and made a few decent runs with it from midfield.

RW: Dominik Szoboszlai – 7/10

He worked his socks off on the right flank and performed his defensive responsibilities well.

ST: Hugo Ekitike – 9/10

Ekitike scored a brace to help the Reds secure a good win today. He deserves the man of the match award.

LW: Florian Wirtz – 8/10

He linked up play well with others around him but failed to register a goal.

Substitutes:

RW: Mohamed Salah – 7.5/10

He was a real menace in the final third and has got an assist to show for his efforts.

LW: Andy Robertson – 6/10

Robertson made one good run with the ball.

ST: Alexander Isak – 6/10

He never looked like he would score.

RW: Federico Chiesa – N/A
