Milan are interested in Switzerland international and AS Monaco striker Breel Embolo, according to Sky Sport Italia.

There had already been suggestions earlier this month from transfer pundit Fabrizio Romano that the forward had been proposed to the Rossoneri.

Now it would seem that they are prepared to go further in that interest and see if a deal can be done.

Embolo an affordable alternative for Milan

The fee should not be too high, because his current contract with AS Monaco only runs to June 2026, so it is their last chance to get something for the sale.

He was signed from Borussia Monchengladbach for €12.5m back in the summer of 2022, having previously played for FC Basel and Schalke 04.

The 28-year-old has 77 senior caps for Switzerland at senior level, in which he scored 18 goals.

Embolo made 42 competitive appearances for Monaco last season, contributing seven goals and nine assists.

He would fit the profile of player that Milan are looking for in that role, specifically someone with physicality and pace.

They could also bring in more than one centre-forward, as interest remains in Dusan Vlahovic of Juventus.
