Manchester United have a whole host of talented players in their ranks, with several stars back in contention for the England national squad.
Kobbie Mainoo, Luke Shaw and Harry Maguire have all been part of the national team before, however have lost their spots over recent years.
Mainoo’s fall from the England spot came at the hands of Ruben Amorim who demoted him from a routine starter at Old Trafford, seeing him struggle for minutes.
However, it’s now understood that Thomas Tuchel sees all three back in the running to reclaim their spots.
For the women’s team, Marc Skinner has three England regulars in his ranks in the form of Lionesses Maya Le Tissier, Ella Toone, and Jess Park.
Now another name is joining the list of Lionesses for the England Under-23’s side.
Taking to their official website, the Lionesses have announced their squad list for the upcoming March games against France and the Netherlands.
Featuring in the list is Manchester United defender Jess Simpson, currently out on loan with Southampton.
Simpson joined The Red Devils from Burnley’s youth set up, coming through the ranks but has recently been on several loan spells to gain further experinece.
Before joining Southampton, the left-back had two loan stints with Bristol City.
However, this summer the talented 20-year-old joined The Saints in the summer on a year-long loan deal as Southampton look to bolster their back line.
Now she’s joining the England side as they take on France at Clairefontaine, France’s national football centre, on Monday 2 March (12pm GMT).
The Lionesses will then head home to the Croud Meadow Stadium, home of Shrewsbury Town, on Friday 6 March (7pm GMT).
However, Jess Simpson isn’t the only link to Manchester United in this squad list, with goalkeeper Khiara Keating having come through the Manchester United academy.
Keating spent five years at the United academy before moving to local rivals Manchester City at the age of 11.
